WOOD BURNING STOVES
A wood burning stove is suitable for burning various types of wood; it is not suitable for burning coal or other such materials. Wood burning stoves have a flat fuel bed as wood burns best on a bed of ash with the combustion coming from warm air introduced at the top of the chamber. This process results in increased efficiency from your stove and fewer harmful emissions being released. At Boyles Stove Centre we recommend that you only burn wood with a moisture content of less than 20%. This is wood that has either been kiln dried or seasoned for 12-18 months. You can also burn wood briquettes as these will have little to no moisture content. At Boyles Stove Centre our experts are always available to help you choose the best fuel for your stove.
