What is a fireplace BEV Technology?

BEV Technology – Burning Ethanol Vapours is an advanced and patented ethanol vapour combustion technology developed for modern fireplaces by Planika’s team of international engineers.

Fireplaces with BEV technology are a perfect solution for projects with real fire, without the need for chimney installation or air supply. They do not require the venting of exhaust gases, which allows for arrangement freedom. They do not generate smoke, soot, or ash, and can be placed almost anywhere, including media walls under the TV, room divider in glazed or unglazed option. We recently created the world’s first outdoor models with BEV technology. Planika has been taking projects with fire to the next level for years.

BEV® TECHNOLOGY – HOW DOES IT WORK?

BEV Automatic fireplaces with fully controlled burning process

The entire combustion process is automated and controlled by a microprocessor. The cool fuel is contained in a hermetically sealed tank. When switched on, the device draws only a small, necessary portion of fuel from this tank and transports it to the vapour generator. There, a small amount of biofuel is heated until it reaches a temperature where it turns into vapour, which is distributed throughout the burner and then burned.

The fire has no direct contact with the liquid fuel. Thanks to the insulated fuel tank, cooling fans and combustion chamber, the ethanol fuel temperature is always low and safe.

A microprocessor communicates with a number of sensors inside the fireplace and controls its entire operation. The fireplace informs you of any activity with an audible signal and a message on the mobile app. Convenient remote control of the fireplace eliminates any risk of human error.

AUTOMATIC REFILL SYSTEM

HOW TO REFILL PLANIKA BEV FIREPLACE?

The Automatic Refill System, makes the refuelling effortless and efficient, eliminating any problem which may occur during manual refilling. The dedicated pump – when connected – automatically fills up the tank with a bioethanol fuel. Once the tank is completely filled, the sensor alerts the microprocessor to stop the process. The level of fuel can be checked in the mobile app at any moment. This way, the risk of overfilling and fuel spillage have been successfully eliminated.

Forma is a firebox insert – all in one solution, where casing comes with an ethanol insert, ready to be installed in the wall opening. Thanks to its zero-clearance feature, the opening can be made of and surrounded by any kind of finishing material. Forma is one of the most technologically advanced fireplaces on the market, using the BEV Technology®. This solution is for the most demanding clients, who desire a Net Zero approach combined with a top-notch technology, safety and comfort of use. Forma comes in seven shapes and seven different lengths. Just like all our ethanol fireplaces, it does not require chimney or any hard connections.
